For those of you who still have yet to visit the SOULSTRUT forums, FOR SHAME. I have no idea what’s holding you back already. We have many traditions that we uphold each year, including 2 holidays. Pap day, and Record Day.

Record day is essentially the one day of the year where all discussions have to be record related. We usually share records that we enjoyed throughout the year with an emphasis of turning each other onto rare music. This year was exceptionally well organized, and I was personally turned onto a lot of amazing music. So, I thought it be nice to put together a playlist on this weeks SS radio featuring some of those cuts from record day.

My good friend Steve, the lead guitar player of the Otis Funkmeyer band, has put together an amazing play list of 700 or so of his all-time favorite funk songs. On a personal mission to educate the world on Funk. He’s probably sick just like me of telling normal people about funk music and they only know about Funkadelic and James Brown.

It’s about damn time somebody re-educates this planet. Anyways, he drunkenly agreed to give me permission to play some of these cuts on the station. Alright yall, a yes yes yall.. I’m basically gonna be playing catsup this week. These are all the things I meant to put on the station before we last went down. I’m gonna do this site a little differently from now on. Until I can get some more help. As of now it’s a one man show, and I also have a real life to live(imagine that). I’ll slowly be getting all the old images back up, and from now on. The updates will come in one mega package just like this one.
